The feature will initially be available to a small percentage of U.S users, but the company hopes to scale globally.

How it will work

Apparently, the process will only take a few taps. After tapping the “Buy” button, you will get additional product details and be prompted to enter your shipping and payment information. Once that’s entered and confirmed, your order information is sent to the merchant for delivery.

Privacy and security concerns

Being well aware of Privacy and security concerns users have, Twitter says that your payment and shipping information will be encrypted and safely stored in a remote server after your first transaction. This is so that you can easily buy on Twitter in the future without having to re-enter all of your information each time. The company also says that it won’t share your information with  the seller without your permission. Twitter joins Facebook to gear-up social eCommerce since Facebook announced in July this year that it was offering its users a way to buy stuff through ads and page posts with a new buy button, without leaving Facebook.
